OOps, sorry, senior moment, I thought you referred to a m6 75mm gun, , which is sort of sherman stuff, i suppose.
I dont know about the gun, whether it remained the same, but I was gobsmacked when I saw the small size of the vertical elevation handwheel.
I also dont envy the poor guy who had to train the turret around by hand

The 75mm M6 was the gun fitted on the M24 Chaffee light tank. The early-type Sherman initially had a 75mm M2 gun (recognizable by the counterweight at the end of the barrel), which was soon replaced by the 75mm M3.

    IS-100 (JS-1 with 100mm gun) Improved KV-1 series
A prototype version armed with a 100 mm gun (same as T-54/55); it went into trials against the IS-122 which was armed with a 122 mm gun. Though the IS-100 was reported to have better anti-armour capabilities (185 mm compared to 160 mm), the 122mm was chosen due to better all-around performance, except RPM and rounds stored.

The Panzer 38(t) the little talked about Skoda designed tank that helped the Germans win in the first 2 years of the war. 4 man crew and a 37mm. Far superior to the PZ1 and 2.

IS2 for me, although I also like the Sherman Firefly.

That said, if only the TOG had seen service, would've been my favourite, very mean looking machine :x  .

    TOG? (The Old Gang)
    Designed to fight WW1 again

Just think if they hadn't wasted there time building that smoldering piece of dog flop and built a real tank.

    Don't knock it.

A few hundred of those, any time prior to 1943 could have made a real difference.

As for my favourite; there are so many, I'm still trying to narrow it down!

I didn't say it would have been terribly effective :) . But it probably would've had some short of shock value against Germans expecting to see Valentines or Crusaders.

I would say that the japanese type 97 is the coolest tank =) i have always been weak for tanks with riveted armor and a cannon on 57mm =) + the japanese tanks are pretty as hell as models =)

    Right, where to start :D

    1. Churchill MKIV (exellent armour, 6pdr was better vs tanks the the 75mm of The Sherman and others.)
    2.Firefly
3.Tetrarch(I just love the Idea of an Airborne tank!)
4.Crusader III (looks cool and with a better gun, still got bad armour though)
5.Matilda II (Invincible in the early years)
6.Kettenkrad(whats not cool about a tracked motorbike?)
    7.Katyusha
    8.Panzerselbstfahrlafette V(very mean looking; http://www.tarrif.net/cgi/production/al ... hiclesX=74)
9.KV-2(one of 3 nasty suprises for the Germans, others where KV-1 and T-34)
    10.T-54 (I know it's not WW2, but i've ridden in one)
    11.M5A1 Stuart (very sleek looking)
    12.Bren Carrier (don't ask why)
13.T-34/85 (When opened, the Hatches look like Mickey Mouse's ears. Very ironic)
14.IS-3 (the thing Remindes me of a South Dakota Class Battleship. Don't ask why)

I could go on all day, but ill stop now, for everybody's sake

I couldn't possibly pick just one...

As Shermans go, the British Firefly Vc with that 17 pounder and the extended counterweight/bustle is quite "the beast."

I always thought the Crusader MkIII (6-pounder) handsome... something along the lines of a British T-34, though not well-armored.

The MkV Panther. More practical than the German heavies in use, and that long-barreled 75mm main gun could deal with most anything the Allies could field.

The Matilda was nigh-unstoppable in the early days of the desert campaign. Not much in the way of speed though--"Gramma was slow, but she was old." Theres just something about it... those imposing side-skirts?

KV-1 with applique armor... My favorite Russian Battlewagon.

Camionetta AS42 Sahariana. I don't know why... I just like it.

Can't disagree with the SdKfz. 234/2 Puma either.

I better stop now... before I end-up naming most everything out there!
