I have a book of "Ballards of World War 2" British -- mostly unrepeatable in front of the young ears of some members of this forum.

    Merlin will recognise many

    WW2 songs

The book you want is..."Kiss me Goodnight Sergeant Major".. the Songs and Ballads of World War 2.... By Martin Page... Foreward by Spike Milligan.... printed 1973... one edition... banned !!!! If that's the one you have Tom you're lucky.
anyone noticed that all German WW2 songs were in the line of 'Panzers Roll' and 'Bombers against England' etc. while ours were 'Mairzy Doats',Ma I miss your apple Pie, Kiss me Goodnight Sgt.Major etc?
Anyone need help with any please ask.

Thats the one, Merlin. A treasured posession!
My Niece was "doing WW2" at school and asked me what a WO1 was. The teacher had given her a very sanitized version of the words in the book. You know the song I mean!

"Tu es partout" written by Edith Piaf and Marguerite Monnot

If you wanna have good songs of the 20s, 30s and 40s you can check out this, it´s for Silent Hunter 3 but most of them are mp3s so you can hear it aswell.

    http://u-boot.realsimulation.com/

then you click on UBRS DLC -> Silent Hunter 3 files -> SHIII Gramophone -> choose what you like, it´s free of charge, I´ve used it too for SH3.

However some are ogg.data like this Ultimate Gramophone Pack - 150+ tunes and broadcasts.rar *, don´t know how you can play this, it´s for the music box ingame of SH3.

*At least I think so, probably it was another file or some other files, so you have to look for some mp3 files, but they´re there good luck

    Regards,
    Che.

    WW2 songs

Do you know that we Brits had no Military songs such as 'Panzers Roll' and 'We fly against England', ours were more of the 'Roll me over in the Clover', Run Rabbit Run' 'She lived in a Light house', 'She'll be wearing Khaki Knickers' type, we did have Lili Marlene but we pinched that! :D
