since seeing frank haspels models, i'm green of envy.
    but then it hit me:
did the german use a red paint as primer is in it?
so the the chipping should be red not grey , am i right?
what do you think about this?

Not sure. I think I read somewhere that the Germans didn't even use primer in the later part of the war due to shortages.

so in that case that will be bare metal, not grey primer, right?

It depends what he is simulating...

Afrika Corps vehicles often had their sand yellow painted on over the original European Grey colour scheme. As the yellow chips away, the grey is revealed.

Frank? Where are you, we need you to settle this!

Late in the war,the Germans used red oxide as a primer and as standard paint. They appear to have had red oxide in abundance.

    Aloha gents,

sorry to be late with my reply; I had to refind my favorites on my laptop since my desktop-crashtrouble.
The red primer would be comming in very sure. Everything is still in progress and I think of using red primer for my vehicle.

    greetz Frank
