I do have a real problem with all soldiers being referred to as "butchers."
Such has never been the case.
It is said it took twelve support-troops to supply the average 'grunt' in the field during the Vietnam War. I'm sure the same is near-true today. Many wearing the uniform are never tasked with firing their weapon in combat. Let alone taking another life in anger.
Most troops have proved to be the best of ambassadors when the battle is over... sharing their rations with the local populace. They've always loved the children where-ever they are tasked to go.
Nope, I'm calling BULL-SHIT on that statement... regardless of who's army we're discussing. That is, short of the Taliban, Al Queda and any insurgents who are happy killing innocent civilians.

To all involved, please take a deep breath and a second look before posting replies to sensitive topics like these.

Nothing indicates that TISO "enjoys" watching a video like this; in fact he states repeatedly that his interest is professional. Whether or not the source of the footage is propaganda is quite irrelevant from this perspective.

As was pointed out in that thread, when Revere posted a picture of a gunshot victim, he did not intend to gloat over it. Only CSP's reply there suggests that. It is obvious to all members here that death should not be cheered in any way, shape or form.

On the other hand, as Hoosier pointed out, not every soldier is a butcher by profession. Since it is not the purpose of an army merely to win wars, it is not the purpose of soldiers merely to kill.

Revere: it is never allowed to call other members any names or to make false and groundless assumptions about them. You will argue in a proper, civil manner or not at all. Consider this your warning.

Man and TISO: the same might be said for you. When you implicitly call people childish or stupid, you're still doing just that.
