My weapon expirience considered exclusivly on domestic production rifles such as: (sry im bit rusty with names)
    -M-75 Pistol, 7.65mm Zastava
    -CZ-99 Pistol 9mm Zastava
    -AUTO10 Pistol 40SW zastava
-Scorpion SMG,designed in Chechoslovakia, domesticly produced by licence.

    Here go bigger guns :D

-12 gauge double barrel shootgun (own a one) ,prefer to use slug :)

-6mm single shot smooth bore rifle, dated from 19-th century (own it) i cant find manufacturer, but moust probably from Germany r Italy.

    -AK-47 made in Yugoslavia M-70 and M-70ab2

-M-72 bigger brotther of M-70,with longer barell and bigger gas chamber.

-M-84 (Serbian made PKT) my favorite i used it when i was in army.

-Single use rocked launcher "Zolja" (forgot oficial name)

    - And used Fragmentation granades shooted from rifle barell "Tromblon mine"

-Hand granades,2 types, diference is that one got plastic body and weaker (offensive) and second got full metall body and it is much stronger (defensive)

Had chances to use some biggers gun ,but i did not...i dont like when i dont see what i hit.

Well I'll start off with hunting gunz I currently own: Win Mod 12 & Remington Mod 11/48 both 28 ga. Rem Mod 11 20 ga. Browning A5 in 20 & 12 Ga. My hunting rifles are out of my military collection. My carry pistols are a Hungarian PA 63 in 9mm Makerov and a 60s vintage military contrakt Browning HP. Also have a couple of Colt single actions and a Ruger Bear Cat.
I have shot almost every variety of US small arms to include full auto & mortars from the Spanish/American War period to current.
I have also shot the same variety of WW 1 & WW 2 German and all of the WW 2 Brit weapons. I've also shot all of the ruskie/com block weapons used from WW 2 thru Viet Nam.
In addition to having shot them, I currently own "at least" one example of most of them.
I started collecting military firearms in about 1953.

Grew up shooting a BB gun. Then more recently, just a .22. Mom always carried a .38. Would love to restore and carry it.

    That's quite a collection!
My small list of what I own currently: Rem 700, Ruger 10/22, AK-74, Tikka T3x. Handguns: Springfield Emmisary, Kimber Micro 380, Glock 43x. Planning to get my hands on some replicas of WWII guns right now, probably starting with handguns and then going to move to rifles. Currently sitting on well over 5000 rounds of ammo in total: mostly 6.5 Creedmore, 7.62x39, 22LR and 380 ammo( .380 Auto Ammo - 380 ACP - GritrSports.com god bless nearby gun store, always picking up a few boxes on fridays on my way home)

All kinds of guns, starting with a Springfield.22 single shot bolt action, made around 1935. This was 1956. Since then I have been hunting and shooting pump shotguns, semiautomatic shotguns, lever action and bolt action and pump action high powered rifles. .22 and .38 and .357 magnum revolvers. I am not going to name all the manufacturers through the years, but at one time I had a bunch, that’s all. Now I have 13 rifles and shotguns, four hand guns. It’s been 67 years of hunting big game, small game and waterfowl. Now, back in July, I had a pacemaker installed to keep my heart beating correctly. They couldn’t get the wire through all the scar tissue on my left side, where it was supposed to be, due to radiation for cancer back in 1990. So, they put it in from my right chest, just under my collar bone. They said “don’t ever shoot a rifle or shotgun again with it against your right shoulder”. I am right handed. I have been putting that firearm against my right shoulder for 67 years. Looking through that scope with my left eye may present quite a challenge now. I guess the proper operation of my pacemaker takes priority.

Hard to break a habbit you've got over such a long time, but I bet you'll be just fine in 3-4 months :D

Yep, I am not bad at all now. But will always shoot from my left shoulder. It’s called “recoil”, and that .30-06 and .44 magnum surely do kick.

I can definitely see how 3006 would mess up your pacemaker. I had to pretty much let it go after my shoulder injury(rotator cuff got messed up, joint followed). Only using 6.5 CM those days, I'd say it's the highest caliber my shoulder can handle...

Started on a BB gun and a pump .22 rifle so long ago I don't remember what it was but then came a Mossberg 144 .22 cal. and then a 30 cal. M1 carbine. Then a Belknap 20 gauge single shot. Then Winchester Model 12 - 20 & 12 gauge, Savage Model 99 - 303 Savage, a little .22 H&R .22/.22 magnum six shooter, Colt Commander .45, Remington Model 70 - .270, 30/40 Krag , a Taurus .380 (disposable), Savage .22, Springfield Armory GI .45, not to mention the current assortment.
Hey I'm closing in on 70 so I've had a bit of experienced. Ten years old and shooting an M1 at a hundred yards puts hair on your - well you know.

I've renamed this thread's title to something a bit less ambiguous to improve searchability.

A surprisingly satisfying thread to read. Kudos to @Commando for starting the thread off in 2007 on the Tanks in WWII forums. Cheers to @Sarge for digging this out of the site archives and getting it going again ten years later.

I now live in Texas so the answer per state law to the question in this thread must be yes, but I did start shooting long ago as a boy.

It cannot be considered a gun, but my father gave me a Daisy Red Ryder BB gun as a boy. He used it as a tool to teach me gun safety. He was very firm on muzzle and trigger discipline, emphasizing the four rules of gun safety without making it a lesson. Once I was proficient and safe with the BB gun, he gave me a .22 rifle. It's a rifle that is still in very good condition today. I'm repeating this process with my own son today. He is still in the Daisy Red Rider BB Gun phase, but he already has a Ruger 10/22 waiting for him.

As for other firearms, I've fired plenty of .22 lr, 9mm Parabellum, a fair share of 5.56/.223, and shotguns.

10/22 is a perfect beginner rifle, but yeah, rather start learning with BB gun. Do you have any pics of your vintage 10/22 from your father, would love too see it!

Shooting for fun over the years?

    Various pistols & revolvers
    M1911A1 (my personal favorite)
    Luger P08
    Walther P38
44 Mag (forget the brand, this was some 55 years ago)
    Colt .357
    S&W .38
    Beretta 9 mm
Colt & Remington cap and ball revolvers

    Rifles and such
    M-1
    M-14
    M-16
couple of shotguns, don't remember brands, over/under & 12g pump, again some 55 years ago
    various muzzle loaders

    Really fun stuff
M-1918 BAR (at the tender age of 13)
    M-60
    M-2
    M-1919

What do I own? IF I owned any of the above I certainly would not say so on the internet, but rest assured, I've none of the machine guns. Guns aren't something I keep around . . . but you don't want to run into me in the dark if I'm carrying a cavalry saber.
