Hey guys, have any of you listened to the song "Sink the Bismark" by Johnny Horton? Its really good. http://www.bismarck-class.dk/bismarck/m ... songs.html
Johnny Horton was "The Man." Some of his other hits include... -Johnny Reb -Battle of New Orleans -North To Alaska not to mention... -I Got a Hole in My Pirogue. --Timbo
I read that one of the minor roles in the film sink the bismarck was played by a man who'd actually served aboard POW at the battle of the Denmark strait. He was temporarily blinded by the hit on POW’s bridge. A case of am I acting or is this big budget da-ja view?
He's not the first vet to do something like that. In "Sands of Iwo Jima", two Marine officers who had been at Tarawa in the 1943 battle played themselves in a scene during the depiction of that battle. One of them was David Shoup, who is generally given a lot of credit for the final American victory in that battle.
