What is this?

HI i was meteldetecting on an old german airfield in northeren denmark. (with permission) then a came across this thing I have found serveral of these, but i have no idea what they are.

 

Can you post dimensions or take another picture with a scale of some sort included?

Just off the top of my head it appears to be a hitch pin but for what I couldn't guess.

As I recall one pound coins are rather small diameter wise perhaps a half inch? If so we're looking at a pretty small hitch pin that likely could be used in many different roles.

 

yeah unfortunately i dont have any smaler coins anywere near me. But I would guess the same as you, but i do think its wierd that, it got some kind of like
firing pin on the end. But again it could be anything

 

If you have any old fashion hardware stores around take it in and ask if they have anything like it. You might be surprised at what you find.

 

It made me think 'detonator', and is ID-ed here as likely a striker from a ZZ42 fuse, whatever that may be:

Yeah it is exactly that I think! Thank you! I should have thought of that, I have three of those fuzes in that area, but didn't realize these was an internal part.

 

My guess would also go for a fuse, but possibly for a mine type.
