I'd be interested to where you found that wheel Commissioner! The Ardennes perhaps? The "Puppchen" was an interesting AT design, using the panzerschreck's ammo. However, according to Ian Hogg, very few were made, perhaps 100 at most, and he wasn't sure how many were even issued.
As he writes Skipper discovery of Eastern Europe. I read that produced until 1944 a little more than 3,000 pieces of weapons.
The East Front is a rather large area though. I think Skipper was pointing out that it wasn't the Ardennes. I would guess Poland from your location but those of our members who follow such things would likely appreciate as precise a location as possible. Pictures of the site (even contemporary) are also quite welcome. It was not my intent to criticize by the way but to help clarify. You'll find many here who welcome all the details you can and are willing to provide.
Wiki does say 3,000 produced. The only contemporary pictures I've seen have shown with American soldiers so I thought it could have been on the Western Front. Admittedly, I should have looked at Commissioner's profile. I could easily see them being sent to the Oder line instead of the much harder to produce Pak 75s. They had a shorter range and inferior penetration to the Pak 75 but were easier to conceal and two men could move them easily.
Well we know Skipper lives in France but he's posted pictures from areas that were part of the Eastern Front so while it's a minor clue poster location isn't at all definitive. You had good enough reason to make that guess and nothing seams to stimulate conversation more than guessing wrong. Commissioner thanks for posting this.
I was referring to Harold's guess as to the Ardennes. You do make my point about Europeans traveling a lot between countries though so that the country of residence isn't definitive as to location. Likewise my guess as to its providence being somewhere in Poland has as IMO as much chance of being wrong as right.
When I got my first car I drove back to school (admittedly takeing a couple of side trips. One way over 5,000 miles when I drove back home from college I skipped the side trips so it was only ~2,400 miles. Admittedly the way to school did involve dropping down into Mexico.
The wheel found in Poland near the Dukla Pass where there were heavy fighting. Where it was near a field hospital for Wehrmacht officers, and then the Soviets for several weeks, bombing the valley before the offensive Dukla.
