IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT - PLEASE READ!

Dear members of the Tanks in World War 2 forum

As some of you have noticed, we've been asking for volunteers to test some new forum software. Since those who have helped out with the new software have not reported any errors, we have decided to move to the new software as of today.

At the same time, the address of the forum will be changed. Rather than going to www.fun-online.sk/forum/, the forum will now be located at www.weaponsofwwii.com/forum/. As you will notice, the new location has a domain name which is more suitable for the forum's subject.

With this move, we hope to solve some of the problems with the current software, including reducing the number of spammers drastically. With the new software, it will not only be more difficult for spammers to sign up, but it will also be much easier to report spam.

The new layout is somewhat different from the current one, and it may require some getting used too. We believe, however, that once you have become accustomed to the new layout, you will agree that the added benefits of the new software will far outweigh the initial problems.

Due to some problems on the current server, it will unfortunately not be possible to transfer the current posts to the new forum at this time. We will try to work out a solution in the future, but we can't make any promises. The current forum will remain here as an archive, but it will not be possible to make any additional posts here. The announcement section will remain open, until the current members have moved to the new forum, in case anyone has problems with signing up on the new forum. You are also welcome to PM Ricky or me if you have any questions.

When you sign up in the new forum, it would be a great help if you could use your current username. This way, we can keep track of which members have migrated to the new software, and it will make it easier to transfer posts from the current forum to the new one in the future.

How long do activation emails take to come?

Most forums are effectively instant, but no reply for c. 20 mins

 

Mine was instant...

 

For me it took 15 minutes to arrive. Got anxious and clicked "Resend activation e-mail". That took almost 30 minutes to arrive. And both of those messages were recognized as spam. So, Ossian, if you have some sort of spam-filter in use, check if it has got your activation mail...

 

Got through eventually... near 1 hour

 

I know with most forums there is a way to go to the individuals profile and you can edit how many posts they have, I dont know if this one and the newer one have that option. goodbye old forums.

In the forums I had you could go onto the members profile and edit there avatar,signiture,name,password and post count. I dont know if its the same for your forums tho.

 

I can't edit the post count, since the post count is an actual post count, but I can in theory edit the rest of the information. The passwords are encrypted as a hash, though, so they can't be copied directly.

yeah ive resent my activation email twice and i still havnt gotten it, i also checked my garbage and spam ones still nothing....why cant we continue to use this forum?

Well, I for one applaud the bolt-on addition of an armour-related specialism - so I'll see if I can kick-start a few threads in addition to browsing some of the older threads on there.

( I would also say that it appeals to me as, hopefully, it should be able to keep away from modern-day Politics. Except that I've vowed not to mention modern-day Politics......)
