If they did it right, instead of making a circus out of it, it might work. Why do it in Europe anyway? Sprinkle teams around towns and cities without an NFL franchise. Play on Thursday nights, and drop the NFL Monday Night Football (Thursday Edition). Plenty of options out there.

With respect I do not see it. Creating 32 farm teams out of whole cloth seems too costly and difficult to realistically make happen. Where do they train and play? If they play on Thursday nites during the NFL season it becomes even more difficult since the only viable option is to play at college stadiums, which are being used by college teams.

Will people watch mediocre to bad football games just because they now have a team in their city? I don't know about that considering the attendance for the perennially bad teams in the NFL as it is.

The NFLPA says the average length of a pro career is just over 3 years, the NFL claim its 6 years, probably its somewhere in the middle at best and there is a good reason for this. Football is a violent game, more like boxing than track and field. That's why they have only 16 official games, plus the playoff and preseason which might run to 24 games total. How many are their in Baseball, a 160 or so, plus preseason and playoffs?

Each season NFL teams begin with 2-4 quarterbacks on their roster, yet from the get go 6-8 teams really don't have a starting QB. Another dozen teams are done if they lose their starting QB, believe me as a Dallas fan I know this all too well. Bottom line is they have too many teams as it is in my opinion.

Things are only going to get worse I fear. Many small colleges are getting out of Football because the cost is too great and bringing them into conflict with Federal guidelines in equality of sports for Men and women. Long term at the peewee level parents are beginning to say not with my kid based on the serious injuries college and pro players are getting long term. If anything this is going to dry up the source of quality players as we go on.

To your point, It's amazing how many families, especially in my community, are still all in with their son in elementary school playing football. Even after multiple concussions. Seems they live vicariously through their kids trying to reach their own athletic aspirations.

AFL is going from strength to strength...with leagues all over the world including India, China and Russia...at least one big game to be played in China this year...As for equality, the AFL trialled women's AFL this year and was a HUGE success...10k turning up to watch and good TV ratings (they were smart enough to put their season on before the mens - which means their season starts just when we (Australians) are really missing the footy and will watch an under 7s game just to get a fix.

Id watch women's football just for the laughs. ..remember watching my kidlet play soccer as a 6 yr old...it was entertaining to see the scrum fail all over the field. ..
Like women's UFC...boring. Change channel and 5 minutes later they'd still be in the same stance.
Let women's contact sports stand by itself rather than slip it in (hehe) with man fights...id be pissed if paid 100 buck for a ticket and had to watch broads fight.
Let women have their own fight club. See how many buy tickets (at same price) as would with the men.
    Just sayin.

How about that Aaron Hernandez. Lots of speculation. Found out that inmates soap their floor when they want to hang themselves.
Didn't John Dillinger make a fake gun out of soap to escape prison...
    (Something something soap on rope...).
Heard Jose Baez of Casey Anthony fame defended Hernandez in his last murder trial.
Read he did a pretty good job tearing up prosecution case.
    I despise the guy.
    He's this century Johnny Cochran.
And Kardashian. Look at the evil he spawned.

Really wonder if Hernandez had brain scarring from too many concussions.
His behavior is very similar to other NFL players who have murdered/abused.
    Hope they direct his brain.

They should make a "Man's Phone" - call it the "MPhone" - make calls, send texts, surf porn and take a good quality picture...

This thread has remained inactive all season. However, I will revive because my Eagles have made it to the NFC Championship. What a season Birds.

They have done well, but they still must overcome their history with a back up quarterback. Odds remain long.

And my Vikes should be moving on to Philly next week. I don't think this game today will be a repeat of 2010. Sean Payton's buddies Dog and Boba Fett won't be allowed in the building.

Jax just went up by 3 TDs over the Steelers. I think I'll go run a couple errands.

I get to two Eagles games a year with my son and his buddies and the grandsons. He is a season ticket holder. But even though a rather big Eagles fan for years, injuries, being part of the game, I have learned not to get all disappointed if things don’t work out for the best this season. Look at the Packers this year, with Aaron Rodger’s injury. Hopefully, whoever they play next week, they can win. If not, it has been a better year than I imagined that it would be. I just hope that Carson Wentz can resume playing at the same level next year and that he is completely healed by the start of the season. My son says that he won’t make his super bowl reservations until after he sees what happens next Sunday. Good idea.

I agree. I was born and raised in Philly, and moved to New England a while ago. My sister booked rooms before Carson went down during Super Bowl weekend (she was being very optimistic, which is not the Eagles way, lol). I go to a couple games a year as well. Love the environment and my heart will always be in PA.

You just never know which Nick Foles will show up. Defense needs to play as they did yesterday.

Absolutely. Just no mistakes. If he plays like he did yesterday, they have a shot.
