I don't think that a North Korean nuke launch at the US is a threat to America. Canada, Mexico, and the Pacific Ocean on the other hand......
I'm guarding the north border from those cagey Canadians! They're polite but that might just be a diversion to throw us off.
For reasons which I can not reveal (due to some members lacking security clearances), a certain Canadian mercenary with access to heavy weaponry may be recruited to help man the Kingman-Yuma front against any invasion of Arizona by secessionist California liberals. Our intel indicates that most of the invaders will be driving hybrid cars made of plastic that can be KO'd with .22 rifles, but we now know that they have some secret heavy armor in the form of full-sized pickup trucks hidden away in Northern California. We'll need heavy guns to stop those columns. It will be bloody and intense when they hit our lines. Luckily, the Californians can't shoot back until they actually cross our border, when they can legally open the locked gun case in the trunk, then open the separately locked ammunition case that contains lead-free bullets (because of Condor lead poisoning theories or some damned thing). Then they can load their tiny California-legal magazines and shoot back. Or, if they don't invade Arizona, we can still hang out, drink beer and catch catfish out of the Colorado river. We'll also need recon units to cross the river and bring back California range cattle for interrogation, followed by barbecue. I don't know who our Generalissimo will be as yet, but there has been talk of contacting Chuck Norris and making him an honorary Arizonan.
I'm hearing that the northern California area will secede from southern California and form their own break-away-break-away state and petition for statehood, or join with with disgruntled Oreganiers to make a new state. This is getting weirder and weirder.
Sounds good in theory but Illinois has been trying to give Chicago back to Wisconsin for years. Chicago screws up the bell curve for the other 98 percent of the state. Maybe California could build a wall around la la land and keep the undesirables contained?
Just saw on the news the Oroville Dam is critically close to a breach in the bypass spillway. Evacuation of Oroville and other nearby towns have been ordered. Could be a major problem. Formerjughead is north of there so at least he's safe.
If Scotland becomes independent we would welcome any states or vice versa. Only thing is the problem with language - centre or center, boot or trunk, trousers or pants. I really think we could not go with 'fanny' as that is regarded as a very rude word here. However, I am sure we could muddle along somehow.
Yes, the drought was caused by climate change, and this heavy rain is caused by climate change. It's similar to the lack of hurricanes recently which was caused by climate change, until we got that hurricane which was caused by climate change.
This is how we got West Virginia as a State, the northwestern portion of Virginia was far more pro-Union than the remainder of the State and moved fairly quickly to remain in the Union. Statehood was helped by the proximity of the northern spar of the state to the primary east-west rail connections between Washington-New York and Chicago. In any theoretical secession eastern and northern California, which is much 'redder', would likely prefer to remain Union. Much more critical is that much of the water that allows the LA basin to exist as a megaopolis originates in states to the east and the tap could literally be turned off.
Northern California has been getting constant rain and with the most snow they've seen in a long time now melting its a bad situation. Maybe it'll divide northern and southern California all by its self? Make Redding the capital of North California? Of course this has happened before but they blamed it on El Nino or something then. I'm sure waiting until the overflow was critical was caused by climate change and not the DWR guessing what "might" happen. Not to mention releasing 50,000 cubic feet per second of water onto bare ground would affect the integrity of the hillside.
Did you see this recent news story? "The climate change debate went nuclear Sunday over a whistleblower’s explosive allegation that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association manipulated data to advance a political agenda by hiding the global warming “pause.” In an article on the Climate Etc. blog, John Bates, who retired last year as principal scientist of the National Climatic Data Center, accused the lead author of the 2015 NOAA “pausebuster” report of trying to “discredit” the hiatus through “flagrant manipulation of scientific integrity guidelines and scientific publication standards.” In addition, Mr. Bates told the Daily [U.K.] Mail that the report’s author, former NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information director Thomas Karl, did so by “insisting on decisions and scientific choices that maximized warming and minimized documentation.” Read the entire article here: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2017/feb/5/climate-change-whistleblower-alleges-noaa-manipula/
Let's get back on the secession topic gents! There's many global warming threads around here already....
Time to dust this thread off and get it into the forefront. CalExit: California Attorney General Allows Secession Effort To Move Forward
You don't have to worry about the heavy armor. They are operated by conservatives so will stay out of it and some may even fight on your side.
