HobbyBoss 1/32 P-61A "Black Widow" The only ww2 aircraft specifically designed for night fighting and one of the aircrafts i have most enjoyed researching and admiring. Some people say it looks a little clumsy on the ground but i find the P-61 to have a great deal of presence/menace. Even though the turret style firing made it a difficult aircraft to bring to bare, in the hands of a skilled crew it could be just as devastating as the Mosquito NF Mk. It took me 2 years to complete this model and bring it up to the standard i think it deserves.
Truly excellent! I attempted one as a young lad, and though I completed it, I never achieved that level of quality or detail. Well done indeed.
Thank you very much everyone for the kind comments. I have to admit it has taken 15 years of blood sweat and lots of tears to get to that level of experience. But modelling is my passion so i will continue to enjoy making models until i die, or run out of room in my attic at least! lol Thanks again for the feedback it means a lot....
Well, this is the center piece of my pristine post war collection. As a Vega block 105 aircraft she never seen combat and was built just as ww2 was ending. Believe it or not this original aircraft was sent straight to surplus/scrap, before being donated to the B-17 around the world foundation. So i decided to keep the theme as it would have looked coming straight off the production line and without any specific camo. I have to admit the experimental aluminum overcast look is very pleasing to the eye. Or at least i think so.... But enough of that. Here's Project 17. HK Models 1/32 B-17G.
