Jim Milne of Invermere, British Columbia, now 97 years old, served as a navigation instructor with the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War Two. Recently he opens his flying logbook to reveal some amusing sketches. See them all on my Wartime Wednesdays blog here: www.elinorflorence.com/blog/rcaf-logbook Jim Milne Sketch 19 Confidence, North Battleford, January 1945,ed copy.jpg

Nice article, Elinor. Jim was a good artist. Do you know if he continued drawing?

No, he didn't. I think time was heavy on his hands when he wasn't flying, but after the war he had such a busy career and four kids that he never went back to it.

Too bad. His skills at illustrating are pretty good.
