I have a question about the OSS agents

Hello, I am new to this forum and as my one of my first official posts I would like to ask the following question.
I know that agents went behind the lines in teams from usually 2-4 people. As I understand it each person had their own code name given to them by the OSS. Here is where it gets sticky, What I am wondering is if each team member knew each others REAL names and information or was it strictly code names. I would tend to think just code names for security purposed however I have never seen it anywhere.

It is likely that many new each other outside their rolls on an OSS team. Some may have joined the OSS together.

 

That is kind of what I was thinking also.
