Over at: Black Cross/Red Star: Air War over the Eastern Front - Feldgrau.net Bergstrom is looking for "crowd funders" or pre-orders for the above volume. I haven't read any of them but have read very favorable reviews of the earlier ones. I have absolutely no financial interest in this but if you are interested it's worth supporting IMO. To bad he couldn't come up with some lower level rewards and use Kickstarter or something similar.
..so its evidently not appearing through Eagle Editions then ... I wonder why that could be...disagreement with the author perhaps...? Surely not.
The author did make an appearance on one of the forums I frequented a while ago (I think it may even have been here). My impression was that he was very knowledgeable about the topic but at least in the discussion forums willing to expound on other areas where I at least was less impressed with his knowledge. I haven't personally read any of the books but have read very good things about them from people I trust on the topic so worth keeping an eye on for those interested in the Eastern Front and in particular the air war there. Good chance I'll get them if I can get a Kindle version as well (which reminds me to check and see if one exists). Just checked on Amazon. The going price for a hard back of the first edition is $150.2 and 3 are more reasonable. The author does have quite a few more titles out. I don't think I've seen any of the others reviewed though. Some of the more recent on the western front as well. Did notice an interesting misprint on the amazon page: https://smile.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_p...e=2&sort=relevancerank&ie=UTF8&qid=1515185272 what appears to be the date listed for More Luftwaffe Fighter Aircraft in Profile is 1852!!! On the third page several more with similar "dates". Not sure if I'm misinterpreting things or what ....
I was pleased with both Luftwaffe Fighter Aircraft in Profile and More Luftwaffe Fighter Aircraft in Profile. Although, they were more for modelers. Never realized it was the same author of the Black Cross Red Star series until now.
he 'revisited' the 'Black Cross ..' series for Ian Allan/Classic already in four volumes. The original series was being published through Eagle Editions. Something evidently went awry....
I hadn't realised that this was 'out'....so I ordered a copy and it arrived today to join my Volumes 2 & 3. Glad to say that at first glance, production values seem high.
