I mentioned this elsewhere but it belong here, so banzai! A What-if movie suggestion:

In this time line the National Redoubt (Alpenfestung) actually gets activated and the Allies are faced with a nasty, drawn-out fight with the worst Nazi fanatics. A concentration camp prisoner who worked on the fortresses tells the Allies that there is one key installation that controls all the hidden entrances and exits to the underground network of tunnels. A suicide team is sent in and manages to blow that facility up, trapping the troops underground, permanent-like. As they are preparing to leave themselves one of them sees a partially open door on one side of the control center. He walks in just in time to see Hitler shoot himself in the head.

I know you lot can fix this.

I called Jerry Bruckheimer. He is very interested in your movie treatment. He wants to cast B actors and CGI the entire National Redoubt using clay and stop motion photography.

I don't know , watching Hitler getting turned into Swiss cheese in a Parisian theater is hard to top. :)

A alternate suggestion (in a alternate history thread) I would offer The Burning Mountain. A book about a time line where the Atomic bomb is delayed by months and the Invasion of Japan takes place. Read it many years ago and it made a impression on me. Might even make a good limited run series since it looked at the invasion from both the American and Japanese perspective.

Nah, I wanna give Dale Dye his first directing creds.

For extra fun we could have four Adolf Hitlers killing themselves at the end. Leaves room for the sequel, "Festung Aries", to be shot on location in a certain South American country to be named later.
