Javey: Take into account the original reason you posted here. Was it to just share the myths to a bunch of interested people or begin a conversation/debate upon a topic? When you post a list if myths, regardless of their origin, that will be hotly debated, as we can see above. Thats the idea of myths and legends. Its in bad form to call out two prominent members of the forum in the manner in which you displayed. In addition, the members here are detailed and concise regarding all manners of discussion, especially for sources. In the current climate this is not only important but necessary. There is alot of bullshit floating around the web and the members will be taken to task to cite reputable sources.

 

As of yet, none of my responses have been "flippant." My response are constructed after doing a bit of this thing we call "research." You should try it some time.

So, you have been on various forums where people post BS, and it is unquestionably accepted as Gospel Truth...That is a real shame.

Kid...I could tell you many stories about arguing with college professors and proving them wrong. The trick is to only argue when you are sure that you are right, and can back your position.

Javey there are plenty of things you said that are wrong, and just plain offensive in that paragraph there. There are snarky and ill mannered people everywhere on this Earth, even the U.K has it's fair share, Takao and lwd were merely pointing out simple mistakes, and were responding IN A POLITE MANNER, if anyone started being rude, it was you."After all you did not enter it till December 1941 with Pearl Harbour, so concentrate on the Japanese and you can rant and rave as much as you like about that!" Hundreds of thousands of Americans died in Europe by the way, and I'd love to see you tell a WW2 veteran who fought in Europe, that his contribution doesn't count. At the end of the day Javey, 95% of the people who join this forum, join to learn more. It can be pretty embarrassing to be wrong, and frustrating to be told you're wrong, trust me....and the "know it all's" KNOW what they're talking about, if you don't believe me, look at literally any of their posts outside of this thread.

 

Regretfully, my youthful friend, you posted several so-called "facts" that were in error. lwd and I pointed out to you these errors, and backed up our findings. You responded with the tried-and-true response that we have come to expect from individuals lacking in knowledge concerning the subject matter...I didn't write this, the "experts" did, take it up with them...Sadly, this is in error.

You see, you have posted these "facts", ergo you own them...they are yours, you posted them, you believe them...Hence, the onus is on you to back up said "facts" when challenged, or else others will take them for exactly what they are, and what you let them be...Crap.
