Hello everyone! I have another thread on ranking weapons attractiveness, only this time around, we have finally reached the Second World War! WW2's sidearms were a mix of the revolvers of the first conflict, dating back into the 19th century, while others were top of the line, modern semi-automatic sidearms. I will be ranking each firearm by how I think it looks, and remember, there is no right answer, and I would love to hear your thoughts on these weapons. I will be ranking these guns from least attractive, to most attractive. Many of these weapons were featured in the WW1 pistol thread, but that does not mean they will hold the same ranking as before.

    27. U.K Enfield Revolver- This is one of only 2 firearms in the entirety of this list I would classify as ugly....and it's the ugliest
    [IMG]
    26. Austrian Frommer Stop- Like I mentioned in WW1's pistols......this isn's the prettiest of firearms.....
    25. Japanese Nambu Type 14- It's not that this gun is ugly......it's just that it's competitors are more attractive....
    24. Italian Bodeo Modelle 1889- It's not a particularly great looking revolver.......it's not bad though
    [IMG]
    23. French Modele 1892- Not a bad revolver at all, but there are better ones on this list....
    22. Belgian FN Model 1922- It does not look imposing or dangerous.....it's almost cartoonish....but it's okay
    [IMG]
    21. Spanish Ruby Pistol- This is similar to the Model 22 above......it's just not intimidating
    [IMG]
    20. Italian Beretta Modello 1935- If it looked like it's modern counterpart, it would be higher, but it's a little stubby....
    19. Czech CZ vz.38- It could be a much better looking gun if the barrel wasn't so long.........
    18. Russian Nagant 1895- A sturdy, Russian looking pistol.......but this is as high it can go....
    17. Austrian Steyr M1912- A Unique looking firearm.....but overall good looking...
    16. Russian Tokarev TT-33- A pretty good looking pistol, but there is a kind of clumsy look that lowers it's attractiveness
    [IMG]
    15. Czech Pistole vz.24- A uniquely designed weapon that is pretty attractive...
    14. Japanese Hamada Pistol- I never even knew of this psistol's existence before today......it's pretty nice..
    13. German Walther P38- Another great German design....but there are some others that are definitely better looking...
12.British Webley MK. VI- A Beautiful looking revolver that is comparable to it's modern counterparts......
    11. Finnish Lahti L-35- This may be a Finnish knock off of the Luger PO8......but boy it looks good.....
    10. German Sauer 38H- This is what a Sig Sauer in 1938 looked like........nice!
    9. Austrian Frommer 37.m- Austria's attempt at a 1911? Good choice......[IMG]
    8. German Mauser C96- One of the greatest looking 100 year old pistols out there........

    7. U.S Smith and Wesson M1917- A fantastic looking revolver that contends with any modern pistol design........
    6. French SACM 1935- A really cool and relatively unknown firearm..........
    5. Belgium/U.S Browning Hi-Power- This has long been a favorite of mine.....it's a beaut.....
    4. Polish FB vis- This is a beautiful pistol made by Poland..........1911 vibes are strong with this one......
    3. German Luger PO8- The Second most beautiful German pistol of all time...........behind the one and only......
    2. German Walther PPK- One of my all time favorite pistols........I own a 22 LR. version that is my pride an joy..along with
    [IMG]
    1. U.S Colt M1911- In my opinion, this is the greatest pistol design of all time......

I would put the Hi Power at the top of the list. It has no US connection other than the original designer was John MOSES Browning, though he died long before the final design was finished up by Dieudonne Saive of FN. It actually has more of a Canadian connection since the Inglis Hi Power was produced there for the British and Commonwealth forces. You could also cite the German connection since during the war, FN was forced to produce over 300,000 for German forces (mostly used by the Waffen SS and Fallschirmjager units).
