My father was in the 4th Battalion Green Howards and found himself part of the 150th brigade's defence box at Gazala - captured around June 1st 1942 and spent the rest of the war in Italian then Austrian POW camps.

I'm looking for information about the likely journey my dad took as a POW from the Gazala battlefield to his first POW camp outside of Naples.

My dad died when I was just 2 so I have slowly be trying to peice togther his war - this bit is still missing.

There's a member on WW2Talk.com by the name of ADM199 who is an absolute gold mine of info on Pows.
    I'm sure he could help.
I'm sure your Dad would have filled in a questionaire on his return to UK after being a pow that should be in the National Archives at kew.
