New Recruit Seeks Help - George Eli Staddon 1881658

    Hi everyone. I've joined the forum in the hope of finding out more about the role played by my wife's uncle during WW2. His name was George Eli Staddon 1881658 and he was a Sapper in the Royal Engineers.We have visited his grave, but despite searches on Ancestry etc we cannot find any details as to where he might have served. I hope this is the correct forum to ask for details. Thanks in advance.

    Apply direct to the MoD for his service records.
    Get a copy of military service records
    That way you will find out what units he served in & when.
    Once you know who he was with you can look at the unit war diaries.
