Figured I would ask this question to all members:

I just bought a new android mobile device. I frequent this site using the device and for some reason, when I scroll down to display the drop menu (the green tabs that float down from the top) "recent posts" is no longer an option on this phone. Does anyone know of a way to rectify this? Thanks.

Happens on my IPad when it flips to book angle...try flipping your phone to Panarama...I mean just turn it 90 degrees...

Good idea. It did display another drop down tab but it is labeled "Watched Threads" not "Recent Posts." Hmmm. . .

Happens on my phone, too. It's a problem that Otto has on his list. (Probably a long one) I mentioned it a while back, so he's aware of it.

    Simple...just bookmark "Recent Posts".

That's what I did for my android. Works like a charm. It's also one of my most visited websites, so I can get it with the dropdown box of web addresses.

Not always...on my android it is hit or miss if I get recent posts or watched threads, no matter how I am holding the cell.

    Update on original post:

After messing around with the functions on the mobile site I have found an alternative to the "recent posts" drop down tab. If any of you have this problem, scroll down the main page until you come to the windows on the bottom. One of these windows is titled "New Posts." This displays the top 5 newest posts available. However, if you click upon the title "New Posts" you can view all recent posts. It also includes a marker for all updated posts since your last visit.

There is also a "Recent Posts" link on this screen which I have bookmarked (Thanks Takao).

Using either Chrome or Edge, if I'm logged in and click "Recent Posts", the forum shows me as logged out.
    Using I.E. that doesn't happen.

You may have to log in in each browser after clicking on the stay logged in box to stay logged in. I get some weirdness of this sort when I move between browsers.

I use Chrome exclusively and am logged into the forum on Work + Home PC's and no logging in/out issues.

I don't normally switch between browsers - use Chrome as default. Just tested with the others to see if the issue was related to the browser.

I use a number of browsers and computers. I've noticed the issue a couple of times but haven't isolated it. A year or two ago it was happening a lot though from what I recall.

Do we still have private message? My old eyes only see conversations.

    boys, howdy.
I've tried to disable email sent to me, regarding "posts you follow", or any other mail. ..it's becoming a little frustrating.
    please disable any email notifications.
    thanks kindly,

Move the mouse cursor over your name in the upper right corner(by Inbox & Alerts). This will bring up a drop-down box. Left click on Preferences. This will open up a new box. Just uncheck all of the "and receive email notifications" checkboxes. Left click on the Save Changes button.
Your done and will receive no more e-mails.

hovering over does not give a drop down menu for me. clicked and went to preferences- as done many times previously.
all boxes were unchecked as usual. clicked save.
Ill check email in a few days to see if it stuck.
    thanks again

Have you tried checking them, and saving. Then unchecking them and saving?
