The late Paul Allen's undersea research vessel has found the ship in VERY deep water. It was crippled by a JIN sub and scuttled by U.S. destroyers. This according to FOX news.

Located at 14,000 ft. She was discovered 2 months ago but the announcement wasn't made until now.

    Bridge.

Bridge, warships have a Bridge, or even two, but they do not have pilot houses.

Thanks for the correcting Rich. I copied the caption from the RV Petrel's Facebook feed without thinking too much into it.

Yeah, I saw it on the Petrel site, too. Spent the whole morning grumbling. Really did not mean to beat you over the head.

No worries -- you've earned that right!

While I in no way mean to demean the Petrel crew and I am far from an expert in any form of naval terminology, I am sometimes surprised by the captions on the photos such as calling the radar platform/mast of the Hornet the "fighting top", etc.
