Just a personal tidbit. Dad always said his lucky number was 13, because he went in the Army on a Fri. 13th and came out on a Fri. 13. I noticed his discharge was Oct. 22. I'm assuming his duties must have ended on the 13th. Not sure, but now I consider Friday the 13th a lucky day. :)

    I'll bite. I choose 0 adding the digits together I get 0. Subtracting 13 I get -13 adding those digits I get 4.

So you are giving 0 a value? The Indians were the first to do that...not American Indians

Zero was invented independently by the Babylonians, Mayans and Indians (although some researchers say the Indian number system was influenced by the Babylonians). The Babylonians got their number system from the Sumerians, the first people in the world to develop a counting system.

Sometimes you can get your leave when you get discharged. He would have processed on the 13th and his papers dated the 22nd.

And if you get a friendly disbursing clerk you can get paid "Privately Owned Vehicle" mileage. Like I did when I went to Great Lakes for discharge. From Puerto Rico.
