'Soldaat van Oranje '/'Soldier of Orange' musical -coming to London

The Dutch language musical 'Soldaat van Oranje ' , has been performing for nine years now, in a specially constructed venue- a former aircraft hanger near Valkenberg . Around 2.8 million people have seen the musical.

The musical is based on the biography of Erik Hazelhoff Roelfzema,, who escaped from The Netherlands to Britain during World War 2. Hazelhoff fought for Britain as a bomber pilot, went on a mission back to The Netherlands to help the Resistance, and then became assistant to Queen Wilhelmina in exile. The biography became a Dutch TV series and in 1977 Paul Van Hoeven directed the 'Soldaat Van Oranje ' film - with an English version appearing as 'Freedom's Run'.

Erik Hazelhoff Roelfzema was a student at Leiden University during the time of the 1940 German invasion. The book, film, and musical focuses initially on Hazelhoff and his student friends, and the dilemmas that they faced. Some being drawn towards the Resistance, a couple towards collaboration, at least one decides to do nothing. Hazelhoff survived World War 2, and returned to The Netherlands at the side of Queen Wilhelmina realising that most of his close student friends lost their lives.

An English language version will be staged in London in the Autumn of 2020,and a special venues has to be constructed. So far all the publicity has been in Dutch, but I am looking for a press release in English to post here.
