Don't know if this forum is still operating but my Dad, Sargent Engle, was also a member of the 383rd Battalion.

    Hey guys,

Been a long time since my first post. If anyone needs a pdf of THE HOT LOOP let me know. I’d be happy to email it. It tells all about the 383rd.

Edwin “Ack-Ack” Ackerman sadly passed away back around 2005. After the Japanese surendered and they were sending troops home, he volunteered to go to Hiroshima to serve as an occupational policeman with the Army. Literally at ground zero. He stayed about a year and then came back to Ohio. He was a kid and the whole experience was pretty heavy for him. He never talked about it to his wife and kids, but he opened up to me in later years. Like most of your relatives... he was a good man.

The Hotloop has photos of everyone. I suggest you guys email me if you haven’t seen it. It was amazing to see my Grandfather’s face again...

Can you share the listings that you have deciphered on the bottom of the banner?

Josh, I attempted to email, but not sure you still use this email after all this time. Do you still have The Hot Loop, and if so cna you share it. My grandfather was 383 bn of AAA arti. His name was Eugene White, and while I have what is left of his papers there is so much I don't know.
