I have some groupings that are still sitting in binders waiting to be displayed. I have made some room on my walls to try to display some and one being framed belongs to Joseph Lebensorger who was a gunner on a B25. He was part of the 42nd Bombing Group and it is a very large collection. It contains a large book of photographs, his "Shortsnorter", a diary with details of each flight, all of his military papers and personnel items. I just got back his "Shortsnorter" and a flight chart that maps from Guadalcanal to New Britain from my framing guy. I wanted to make sure they were properly protected and preserved for the future. I still have his wings, tags and some pictures still being framed that will complete the set. Always interested in hearing your feedback and comments. I can also scan the entire diary if there is an interest.
I just got the final piece back from my framer and she did an amazing job to preserve. She places instructions behind the board on how to remove all the pieces in case I decide to sell the grouping. On a side note her father was part of the 101st who jumped on DDay. She always handles all my items with the utmost respect.
Nice job on this. I would like to do something like the one above with my Dad's stuff. I'm still trying to pull some stuff together about him.
I encourage you to post as much as you can. Your photos are outstanding and I know most on the forum would be very interested in reading about the 52nd BG.
