Just started reading this. Written by Adolf's favorite son Leon Degrelle. The preface and beginning of the book explains, in Degrelle's perspective, why he and other non-Germans fought in the East. It sounded pretty much like what my grandfather said about his reasons. Into the first chapter right now and will give my opinion when I am done. Has anyone read this book?

I read his "Campaign is Russia" book. It might be the same. See if later he talks about with they did with the lice in their shorts.

He is always talking about the lice. On him and the Russian peasants. May be the same book. Right now I am at Jan 1944 and the Cherkassy operations. I was hoping he would touch on how he got commissioned and the transition from Heer unit over to Waffen SS. Right now fighting part of Wiking so I am assuming they are already part of the Waffen SS

Just finished the book. About what you would expect from a staunch nationalist. Does fill in the gaps even though there is a lot of fluff. Stops right when he ends up in Spain. Nothing afterwards. Too bad. Interesting read
