Hi All, First time poster, please call me Rich, I am 31 and have been interested in WW2 since I can remember my Grandfather telling me his stories from a young age. My main interest in WW2 centres around the hardware of it all I have always been a big fan of anything that moves be it a Tank, Train, or plane! I have been to Bovington home of the tank museum a couple of times and always amazed by the variety of tanks on show. Personal favourite would have to be the Sherman, but that would be a bias from my Grandfather! I have recently been fortunate to receive letters that my Grandfather wrote to my Grandmother during WW2. I have come across a word I do not know and cannot seem to find any reference to it online. This may be my interpretation of his handwritting, any ideas given the context? See extract attached for handwritting: The word as i see it is trishies... Background information: My Grandfather was a tank fitter for Shermans, not hugely sure on regiment yet (waiting for MOD records) I think County of London Yeomanry 3/4. This letter was from October 1943 while he was going through training in Bournemouth. Many thanks for any ideas given, I am just getting into these letters and history and finding it all very interesting to start building the picture up. I look forward to being part of this community of researches and like minded people. Cheers Richard

That is a tough one, Rich. I can't seem to make it out. Slang for something, I am sure What kind of unit was he in at the time? Was it still training or in combat. Does the next sentence continue the thought or move on to something else?
