Anyone have any thoughts on him? Books seem to have a decent review, but I am put off by the 'new book every year' he seems to be doing...which makes me think Ghost Writers? Such books take more then a year to research/write/edit etc so something seems off to me.

His books are worth reading. James is a clever man and a very prolific writer. Of course you get the same James Holland views of each theatre, and some of his books are rehashes. German over engineering etc. Dresses in a paratrooper jacket and carries his phone/ tablet etc in the British gas mask carrier.

I worked with him for a day and found him genuine and with as much passion for WW2 as anyone on this forum.
