What books would you recommend for studying the battle of Sicily?

The Green Books, for certain. Did Alexander tell us how he cowed Etna?

I liked the Carlo d'Este book, he's better at appreciating the British viewpoint than most American authors and he gives a really Allied account. Gavin's On To Berlin has some good stuff on the 82nd. Farley Mowat's And No Birds Sang is an excellent Canadian memoir. I also liked Sicily: Whose Victory? Martin Blumenson's volume in the old Ballentine series.

CARL has a large number of AAR's and studies on the Sicilian Campaign, albeit almost 100% American.

The Army Green Books are a great source for breadcrumbs.
