Trying to find the location of this Pic today - Wittmann

Hello Everyone

First post here and have been enjoying browsing this site! I am just a hobbiest/historian with an interest in then and now pics and locations. I have been interested in Michael wittmann like many, but more so trying to locate where pictures were taken. There are a bunch of then and now for his Villers Bocage battel and of course his final battle. however this picture is one of a couple of him apparently heading to the front in France July 7, coming out of Morgny-en-Vexin?

Does anyone knwo what and where this road is today? I have been searching for quite a while and would really like to pin it.

Lefevre (ATB Panzers in Normandy - not perfect, bit dated, but not terrible) says it is around June the 10th, East of Rouen, travelling South Westwards on the N316 (N31 now?) from Gournay-en-Bray to Les Andelys. - unit just passed through Lyons & climbing from the Levriere Valley towards Morgny.

I found it! right outside of morgny on the D916! thank you so much!

 

And thank you. Always interesting to get a typo noted in a moderately expensive (and widely rated a bit better than it is) book.

 

yes, if you come out on the D916 from Gournay you will come to a little village called Ernemont, just past that you will see the bend, and the other picture from that day as they circle up the hill and a very sharp 180 degree turn is further up.

the little triangle sign is still there as well! its very cool to finally find this, i have been searching quite a while!

 

Must be here. There is a road sign, as in the photo of the time. This sign indicates a turn to come.

yep that is it! also if you follow that up and around the sharp bend there is another picture from hat series taken there. I think there are more pics but I have only found those 2
