We used to take the kids outside to watch the crop duster airplane work the field behind the house. They still remember that.

oreely There are 5 natural events that are much more likely to kill me tomorrow. The knowledge that we all gotta go sometime is calming to me. The other day I was having my morning coffee on the deck and watched a 120' tree fall that was 200' away. 35" of rain in 33 days. Landslides already.

Made me high to see the power of nature that could snuff my life out? Dread and awe at the unfeeling power of nature would be more what I felt. Knowing that if I was 150' from where I stood the tree would have killed me with no remorse. You must live in a very safe and secure place. You seem to have a need to create something to fear just so you can feel.

    pfft.
near death experiences have consistently caused me to appreciate life.
exhilarating when dodging a bullet (so to speak).
my life will not end by a falling tree, while drinking (mushroom?) tea and biscuits on the south deck.
