The City of Brotherly Love.........sometimes. There is a lot of history there. Much to be learned and benefited from. The waterfront has or had anyway, the submarine Bacuna (spelling) and Admiral Dewey’s old flagship Olympia, but last I heard it was rotting away. My son graduated from LaSalle University there and met his wife there. They lived in South Philly for a few years while she did her residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. (She’s a good doctor) There are some great Italian, family owned restaurants in South Philly. Then, the famous Philly cheesesteaks.
I started going to Phillies games there back in the 1950’s and still attend Eagles games with my son who is a season ticket holder. I was discharged from the Navy there at the Navy yard in August of 1969. The Navy’s “mothball” fleet is there and I believe your can tour the Navy Yard on certain days. There are some great universities there.
Overall, a rather pleasant experience. Just watch which part of the city you choose to venture into. The same these days in any large city, I suppose.

We also went to Eastern State Penitentiary . That was fascinating.
Had cheesesteak & fries in Pete's pizzas nearby.

Did you, perchance, see any brothers loving each other?
