B-17 Queen of the Skies by Avalon Hill?

There is a PC Emulator out there for it, board game not required. Google
B-17 Queen of the Skies Emulator and you will find it.

.....Best game I know for WW2 is the very old mod Forgotten Hope 2 based off of Battlefield which was one of my favorites...it is/was a mod developed privately, I think.....it had EVERYTHING...all types of vehicles/aircraft/arty/mortars.....you could call in arty/mortars with binos...then the arty/mortars were ''handled'' kind of like the actual way you aim mortars..in some maps you could pick up the mortars and move since the fighting would get out of range if you were static
...it had North Africa with the vehicles that were used there, along with the other theaters..Stukas screaming down at you ....
....the vehicles gave it a lot more
even had this ''failure'' = the Bishop--very slow, etc

The original poster was a spammer (spam link in post, Pakistani source IP, user email used to register spam accounts on other forums, etc), and is now banned. However, you good Rogues have spun up a fertile thread from the manure, so let's carry on.

Finally pulled my head out of another massive Prison Architect life-wasting session, resisted going back to more Dungeons 3, and bought Fields of Glory II (50% off as registered for 15 years with Matrix/Slitherine... Pleasing but also slightly depressing...)

    It's good.
Bit dry, & I've a tendency to wander off during opposition turns, but the enforced tactical thinking works for me.
Don't think it'll steal my life either, which is a good thing.

(And the best B17 game remains B-17 Boooooombbberrrr on the Intellivision. So there.)

Still love British soccer. I guess it is now called Football manager 2019. Started as Championship manager 1996....

I also like to do the armored Fw-190 attack against B-17' s face to face trying to shoot the B-17 pilots. Not a long time to hit your target.

I played two old Avalon Hill games today. First was Alexander the Great, which I played solo, mostly to learn. Tthe other was with my daughter, but was not a wargame. We play Acquire, which is an abstract hotel building and stock purchasing game.

    I won both.

i had a lot of grief trying the long jumps. made me nervous.
i also had the radio going, as the chanting etc unnerved.
