I am so glad I found this forum; I am 57 and was born in Manchester, England. I have been an Australian since my parents came here when I was about 2 years old. When I was a kid I heard so many stories about life in the UK during the war. I look forward to sharing some of these and I hope I have finally found folk with a similar interest. My uncle, Donald Kingaby was a Battle of Britain ace. He was the only person to receive the Distinguished Flying Medal 3 times. I don't know how many enemy planes he shot down. Uncle Donald is my biggest claim to fame. WWII went through British youth like a wrecking ball. Most of my uncles, both Grandfathers I never even met. Enough about me for now. I am going to spend yet more time exploring this fascinating forum. Bye for now. Harry ,
Harry, welcome to the Forum. I spent my youth reading everything I could find about the BOB and the pilots who flew against the Germans. Hopefully we will hear some stories regarding your uncle and his exploits. John
