Looks like a scrumptious feast you have there Skipper ! I do like Marmat's centerpiece for the table :) Not having what I'd call an educated palate I'll just stick to the Black Label Scotch whiskey for the evening after dinner drink.

My Daughter and I will watch Scrooge the 1951 British one starring Allister Simm , we watch it in black and white NOT COLORIZED!!!! call me old but it is one movie that I think works better without color . We have Roast turkey on Christmas Eve it gives my wife a break not having to cook Christmas . Than depending on the weather( and my Parkinsons disease) We,ll take my son his wife , my 2 grandsons and my daughter down to the halifax waterfront to look at the navy ships which are decorated and lit up .

I usually watch these on X-mas eve:

Then I cap it off with a viewing of Die Hard, and a listen of my favorite Christmas song:

Seeins how meager the Xmas is at the sheep pen with URGH in command I have a how to video for enhancing the Xmas dinner a bit as it is done down here in real sheep country. The local trading post sells this item so everyone can have this special item that is best done to crispy on a grill. Don't knock it til you try some.....it could change your whole value system in a single bite.

Oh I forgot to tell you it is achi to the Navajo, and no herdsman here is a herdsman unless they possess the skills of winding these food items. Girls in beauty contests must sometimes demonstrate these skills as well. Here is another with a little more detail for those who want to practice....

Lets get this going again.

What's the tradition at y'all's house?

We're doing Christmas up at my Mom's Christmas Day. Should be about 40 aunties, uncles, couzans, neices, nephews, siblings and significant others of the aforementioned ones. I'll be busy cooking tomorrow, ham and chicken pastalaya, injecting the turkey, baking some green bean casserole. Yeah I know, green bean casserole doesn't sound very appetizing, but when you use fresh green beans and do it up right it is much better. Get up around 0300 and put the turkey in the oven, then over to Mom's for about 0800 to help out with things over there before the crowd rolls in. There will plenty of food to go around with what the others end up bringing. We also make a large canister of Poinsettia drink, a Christmas tradition at the house. It's cranberry juice, champagne, vodka, triple sec and fresh mint over ice. Not bad. What y'all doing?

We are a bit different. Instead of Christmas Day our big tradition is on Christmas Eve. My wife is Italian so we do the “Seven Fishes” on Christmas Eve. Now just so everyone understands my side is Irish Catholic and I can’t stand seafood. It was all those fish sticks and cod filets that ruined me that we had every Friday in the good old days. I am also a retired Executive Chef so I spend the entire night cooking something I don’t even enjoy. Now that I got that out of my chest, it a fun night and we have about 50 people that we have over and I also have 6 grandchildren. We clear out our living room and set up tables and the shrimp and crab cakes start to fly. Plus there is plenty of alcohol to wash everything down. Hoping everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year

Yep, I know all about the seven fishes, as my daughter-in-law is Italian and from New Jersey and her grandparents were Italian and from South Philly. Her mom and dad still live in Laurel Springs. The whole family is bunches of fun to be around. She has a big Italian family.
Our family is in Las Vegas this Christmas so it’s just the wife and myself. We’ll go out to eat Christmas Eve and then to candlelight service at 7:00 pm. Have dinner at home Christmas Day and open our presents with the chihuahua. Usually we have a big dinner here Christmas Eve and then drive the eight miles to my son’s house Christmas Day. We will see some of the neighbors on Christmas.

Up after daybreak for presents and breakfast, then 10:30 Mass. Turkey dinner with the trimmings that evening. Then getting to bed and hoping my tablet is fully charged for Boxing Day games from England while I work from my home office.
