The music is incidental...you never dubbed audio over video? Why don't I hear marching feet, just music? Just saying...
You must be a treat at parties...but you are right, the music could be (and probably is) added later so no real indication.
What was the giveaway, that it is a 50 some second film looped 8 times. If I was a treat at parties, I'd have dubbed the Marine's Hymn, sat back and watched all the fun going on in the comments section.
MarChant, don't take what Takao says too bluntly or personally. He makes good strong points and backs up his arguments and viewpoints accurately, but sometimes he does lack in the delivery department.
That same question is discussed on another forum: Official marches of the Wehrmacht - Axis History Forum In short, the answer is yes. Often the marches were old, traditional marches adopted by the units as their official parade march. Some units had music composed specifically for them, but those were seldom used as official parade marches.
I don't know, but one thing mI did notice was that most of the marching soldiers there were of the same average height, with only one or two shown as being shorter than the next man. That could indicate Liebstandarte,, but the film is too grainy to be sure.
