Turned a spare bedroom into a war room..just a sample from WWI to Vietnam but mostly WWII stuff. Sometimes I'll put on some music by Glenn Miller or Vera Lynn or even Odu schöner Westerwald when it fits my mood...that rifle is a Russian Mosin-Nagant 91/30 dated 1943 with a correct dated sniper scope.
Have a birthday coming up and thinking of adding this nose art panel to my collection... Aircraft Nose Art Panels | Unique Aviation Decor | Available at Planejunkie
My big plan is after we retire is to find a place with a bigger backyard and have a WWII style Quonset hut built..with the interior like the officer club in the movie Twelve O' Clock High..bicycle rack out front, with dozen tables and chairs or so, open bar, fireplace for my Toby mug, completed missions on the ceilings and a original jukebox playing Glenn Miller music...first couple rounds will be on me.
That would be amazing. Just to walk in there you would be transformed back to some airfield of the 8th AF in 44. That would be an outstanding idea especially when the fireplace would be working. I tell you, when you are ready, let me know, I will be in my Tahoe for a visit and a donation that you can place on your mantle.
