As the WW2 germans captured M3 and M4 tanks, Did they ever adopt those tanks suspension system (VVSS & HVSS)? Are there any accounts of what the WW2 germans thought of the VVSS/HVss suspension system?
I can think of no examples where Germany adopted VVSS or HVSS, though they might have tested on a prototype. In practical terms they would not be getting many examples of these until mid to late 1942 at the earliest and by this point they had a fairly workable system in wide spread production.
Not about the suspension system but early in the war the Germans sent their broken tanks By train to Germany. I recall By 1943 they had local repair units. What a change.
