    Yeah, when I grew up drinking age was 18, something they changed the year before I hit the magic number and changed back to 21 the year after I hit that number. All to prevent "drunk driving", except that I keep seeing people here getting convicted over and over - one guy is at 40-odd - but they keep on driving drunk and are supposedly adults.

    The 18th birthday should be the initiation age for the modern age...years ago probably 16...years further back 14...go further back and its 12 for marriage and then children (at around 13). I think children as young as 7 were working the mines...And being sent to Australia as a punishment. If you come to Australia I would fully recommend visiting Tasmania, and going to Port Arthur...and visit the children's prison.

    My grandfather immigrated from Canada the United States with his family when he was 7. He was working in the Harmony Mills when he was 10.

    Looks like our state moves from the red to the yellow stage on 5/29. Still not doing things much differently and will wear a mask where necessary.

    Only about half the state, the eastern half is still red until June 5th. The transition from red to yellow is not a major step, although some more businesses will be allowed to reopen. I have no plans on changing my routine.

    The MAAM WW2 weekend has been postponed - they are now looking at July 31-August 2. Will see what happens.

    I don’t know why I posted that. I meant COUNTY,NOT STATE. And I am still considering wearing a mask in certain locations after we are in the green. And how long we stay there remains to be seen.

    I hope it works out, a lot of little hot spots opening up, some in places that don't have the facilities NY/NJ has.

    Played golf last night. A fellow I know who's politics and life are a polar opposite of mine suggested that the JFK quote "Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country." meant that JFK would approve of 300-400,000 dying the economy.

    My favorite Memorial Day story. Wallace Kidder was the scout that everyone liked in my dad's Ranger platoon. Wallace grew up in a Klu Klux Klan State that had just had a KKK governor. My dad was everything that the KKK thought was wrong with the country. Immigrant, Catholic, Union man. Yet they were able to bond in a way few people can experience. Wallace was there in the ground when Gen. Truscott turned his back to the crowd and spoke to the men who were buried. Memorial Day in 1945.

    When they suggest x number of people they don't think it means them or those they cherish, just somebody else. Don't see any of them volunteering for a Covid ward do we.

    Coronavirus deaths per million by country | Statista
    We are 10th on the list.

    Sweden...Which some here have expounded as the lead to follow is 8th. Looks like Sweden is part of the "Do not let this happen to you." crowd.

    Not much point in comparing a P-51D to a P-51D is there? You compare/contrast it to it's opponents and/or stablemates, the Me-109, FW-190, A6M, Ki-84, Spitfire, P-47, P-38, etc.

    there it is!!hahahahahah
    Ecuador..I've been there....many and HUGE differences between the US and Ecuador
    hahahahah
    Canada..FYI, Canada's population is ten times less than the US and the biggy!!! = density:
    Canada = 10 psm
    US = 87 psm..8 times higher
    Canada's largest city; 4500 psm
    US NYCity 27,000psm !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you do see the HUGE difference?
    so --27,000 compared to 4500
    density is a critical issue for C19
    stop comparing them--it's nonsensical and proves nothing
