From now on, I'm am going to (ab)use this list every time someone here is guilty of one of those things.
    Thank you Rickster

See how long it takes you to memorize these... ;)

This list is reasonably complete, I've had to learn a similar one last year in Rhetoric class. It's very adviseable for everyone to read through it, since it makes it so clear why certain common lines of reasoning are both wrong and unacceptable.

But then, Roel is Dutch, so all his arguments must be wrong.

Which fallacy was that again? :D

Quite simple. Ricky only stated the all of your questions must be wrong because you are Dutch. This only refers to the fact that you are Dutch, and that your arguments - based on this - ought to be wrong. The statement still allows for other factors to negate your nationality. To exclude this possible negation, Ricky should have written, that because you are Dutch, all your arguments are wrong.

You therefore only agree that your nationality is a negative factor in determining the accuracy of your arguments.

Fair enough. I rather tend to agree with your last statement anyway. ;)

    debateing free speach

speaking of debates , i wonder if we might debate as to why i seem to be locked out of the main forums . did i offend someone ? i might tease and jest but i certainly never intended to hurt anyones feelings .

i have been critical of the warlike and imperialistic message of islam but that message is not something i invented .the texts in the koran and haditha are open to public scrutiny and i belive it behoovs us to take notice of their instructions to the faithful . we all might know some number of reasonable and freindly muslims but the texts of the prophet are clearly not freindly and the actions of the men who take these texts seriously can be seen in newsprint and on television every night .

im not sure why i have been gagged because i have not been given any explanation nor any warnings of censure . i have never attacked or flamed any member .i have attacked ideas and attitudes .nazism and communisim were political ideas but were built on cult like followings that venerated omnicsient and infallible leaders ,hitler ,stalin ,mao and kim il jung all became virtual liveing godheads ,replacing religious dogmas with their own rather destructive dogmas .

imo , all dogmas deserve scrutiny and critical thought wether they were invented by bavarian paper hangers in 1925 or caravan slave raiders of iron age arabia . if i was seen to be stepping over a line with some taboo ,pertaining to certain dogmas that might enjoy some type of protection from critical observation then i think i should at least be given some kind of warning or hearing prior to being excomunicated .

if a mod said ," hey watch it ,im warning you woody ", i would certainly take notice and might decide to argue the point or clam up .but being tried ,convicted and sentenced without an accusation or any prior notice whatsoever , seems to me , unjust , undemocratic and against the all notions of free speach and fairness we still enjoy in real life .

if i am to be hanged for violations under the statute laws of modern correctness , let us have a trial in this forum ,.tiso , roel or smeg can be the district attorney and i would be glad to accept as my counsul ,greig ,ricky , simonr , or hoosier and i think notmi, christian ,corp or merlin should bang the gavel , instruct the counsuls and pronounce the vedict ,

it would be kinda fun and certainly better for me than being whisked away in the night by the nkvd .btw , please ask my counsil to bring me a blanket ,toothbrush ,candles , pencil and paper , im not sure where i am , but it is kinda cold and dark.

empanel a jury of my peers and lets get on with it ,if you must hang me , at least lets do it in the old pre sharia way . i belive western democratic juriprudence still prevails here ,for now .

Damn....Error 404 message tells me this page does not exist...

Must have been good though, not one negative comment.
For those of us without the privelage of access, what were the main points anyway?

I would like to know. Its always good to brush up on debating skills.
