I know French workers were often used as labor on u-boat bases, like the one in Lorient, but I can’t seem to find any details on the paperwork they were required to carry. Does anyone know what paperwork a French worker would have had to present to be allowed access onto a u-boat base? I thought maybe it would have been an Arbeitsbuch für Ausländer, but then I saw somewhere that those were only used for foreigners working within Germany. Any ideas?
