Does anyone know anything about the "Pacific Coastal Defense League"? I have a pin from my fathers effects which has this printed around the outer edge. In the middle is a large coastal artillery piece, muzzle pointed up, the barrel long enough bisect the lettering. I asked dad about once and all he said is that it was a sort of civil defense group. My parents lived on the CA/ORE border near the coast at the outbreak of the war.

Hi ljwagg, The Pacific Coastal Defense were coastal arty units usually set up to defend nearby military installations from attack. The Pacific Coastal Defense League was probably all the west coast units combined. Since your parents lived up north your dad would have been with the North Pacific Coastal Defense. I hope this helps. Steve
