Modifications of 2 inch british mortar

Hello everyone. Can anyone explain to me which modifications of british 2" mortar was the most frequently used in WW2? I am only searching for the version, that was used by infantry at platoon level. So I found some photos at ww2 database, and in most cases i can see this version (photo 1). Is it "Mk VII**" (according to the Wikipedia)? Or is it earlier version of it, like, Mk 2? Then which variation is this mortar (photo 2)? Can you please explain to me the difference? Thank you in advance for answer.
