I would like some information on Normandy, France and Germany (1944-45) for a story I am writing. I would like to know if any large battle were fought around there, or which battles, any weapons that were somewhat popular with soldiers. I would as well like to know what a normal Marine/Soldier was equipped with. Any statistics about France/Germany that might be important to the story, or as an extra detail. Any Soldier/Marine that had a 'parchutte experience' (parachuted from a plane into/around battle) please contact me. I will update later, thanks alot!
Sarge, Have a look in your local Library, must be hundreds of books on the subject. On the net try http://www.army.mil/cmh-pg/reference/normandy/Histories.htm PS, Marines didnt see action in the European Theatre, despite Sven Hassell's writings.

Also, I'd like to introduce you to the forums' veteran, Brian Guy 'Sapper' : http://www.ww2forums.com/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=6;t=000047 His story is amazing and you can certainly e-mail him.
