I have an interest in various aspects of World War 2, particularly the poetry of the time.

Also run a blog titled 'A Burnt Ship' about Stuart era war poetry and prose ( from 1590's until around 1715 )

'A Burnt Ship' has covered poetry by John Donne, John Dryden, Aphra Behn, John Milton, Edmund Waller, Richard Lovelace, Andrew Marvell, amongst others.
Also looked Conan Doyle's novel about the 1685 Monmouth Rebellion- 'Micah Clarke', and interviewed Dorset historian Mark Vine about his book on the 1645 Royalist uprising in Weymouth ' A Crabchurch Conspiracy' .

Future posts will cover literature and prose dealing with Peter the Great's victory against the invading Swedish army at Poltava in 1709

Have revived the blog A Burnt Ship with interviews with historical novelists setting work in the 17th century, a review of 'Poet of Revolution' the latest John Milton biography, and a post about poetry related to The Gunpowder Plot.

The aBurntShip blog about 17th century warfare and related literature continues to be updated. Have featured more recent examples of modern day fiction set in the 17th century, and two posts about how the Monmouth Rebellion of 1685 has been featured throughout the centuries in fiction, poetry, drama and music. A new project related to 1685 will be launched soon.
