Interesting that Mount Kosciuszko is Australia's highest mountain... "The mountain was named by the Polish explorer Paweł Edmund Strzelecki in 1840, in honour of Polish-Lithuanian freedom fighter General Tadeusz Kościuszko,[note 1] because of its perceived resemblance to the Kościuszko Mound in Kraków, Poland". - Wiki

ISU-152 must have been a favourite. It could destroy Tigers or Panthers and was nick named " animal killer" or like wikipedia says " beast slayer". The only problem the slowness of shooting. During the war the USSR built some 120,000 T-34s but lost some 80,000. Simply numbers destroyed the German Army. I am using my cellular only now so I concentrate on comments.
"French and Soviet ground personnel and pilots of the fighter squadron Normandie-Niemen pose with their Yak-9 fighter. The regiment was comprised of French nationalities serving on the Eastern Front and all of their aircraft had distinct red, white and blue painted propeller nose caps; mid 1944."
The French pilot unit is not very well known. If at all. I recall there is a thread a long time ago but use the search engine and in case for the eastern front threads for more info. Or wikipedia/net.
