A graphic line-up of all the personnel required to keep one Avro Lancaster of RAF Bomber Command flying on operations, taken at Scampton, Lincolnshire, 11 June 1942. ------------------ Deutsche Werke, Kiel 23/24 July 1944 In the first major raid on a German city for two months, 629 aircraft – including 10 de Havilland Mosquitos – were dispatched in this first RAF (since April 1943) and heaviest RAF raid of the war on the target. In less than half an hour, all parts of Kiel were hit but the bombing was particularly heavy in the port areas and all of the important "U-boat yards" and naval facilities were hit. The presence of around 500 delayed-action or unexploded bombs caused severe problems for the rescue and repair services. There was no water for three days; trains and buses did not run for eight days; and there was no gas for cooking for three weeks

My tank offerings... Australian Centurion Australian Leopard Tank at the office - (The Germans know how to make a tank) Australian Abrams - Meat I have been very pleased with Australia's acquisition and upgrade of it's tanks over the decades...it makes our neighbours squirm when they think of invasion. Not just nuclear weapons...but the Mirage, F-111, F-18 and our tanks have kept the peace (prevented war) in the region. Not many countries can boast an F-35 and Abrams defence. You Americans bemoan how you don't make anything anymore...well that's just BS. You are still at the tip of the spear when it comes to high end machinery.
