http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/tennis/22833032 With one of his trademark shots - the back-foot, inside-out forehand, sizzling and spinning with diagonal ferocity - Rafael Nadal claimed another piece of tennis history; the first man to win the same Grand Slam tournament eight times. ------- What a great match the semi-final between Djokovic and Nadal - 4 hrs 37 minutes...WOW!
Congrats to Rafa, he has done very well, considering he was out with an injury since his quick exit from Wimbledon last June. It seems he is winning everything at the moment, and good luck to him. The match between him and Djokovic was fantastic, pity it wasn't such a good match in the final. Talking of Wimbledon, it's not long before all the hype over Andy Murray starts again. Will he, won't he? He has had trouble with a back injury and hasn't played very well at all this year. Not much chance of him winning as there are too many good players in the top 20 who can beat him. We live in hope over here in England Lesley
Rafa is so popular here that is now in our folklore. I heard many stories of his facts that resemble the ancient kings tales. He is a LEGEND.
Now Rafa has 12 victories from Paris. He truly won Djokovic with such ease. He must be a megahero in France. Finnish rally driver Ari Vatanen has won Paris-Dakar rally four or five times and said that in France everybody knows him. Wonder what it is for Rafa...

Djokovic received heaps of shit from the Australian public whilst here...He dared to have a problem with the lock down we put the Tennis players in...this in Melbourne, who had to lock down for three months...and lose there jobs etc...and here was a rich sports star thinking that things shouldn't apply to him (or his girlfriend) - He then back tracked when the public smashed him online...The tournament almost wasn't going to happen, but was allowed on the proviso that the players quarantine (which meant they couldn't practice) So they had to practice in their hotel rooms...
I like Djokovic. He must only take care of his Nerves to win. I recall for Goran Ivanisevic. One day he was God, the next you did not want to see him play. We all knew that.
