The October War, also known as the Yom Kippur War: Egyptian and Syrian troops launched an attack to reconquer the territories under Israeli occupation since 1967. The United States gave military assistance to Israel, and the Arab states were similarly aided by the Soviet Union.

Been watching YouTube again epic battles simulator and war games axis allies and CTA call to arms, cta looks great the cgi game generator looks great very detailed. The game looks very complex you can control all your troops assign troops to man different weapons lay mines build defenses in the one I was watching they build dummy wooden field guns to confuse the enemy forces. I liked when a tank took a track hit and the tank was disabled the crew would jump out and try to repair it or if knocked out try to fight back with small arms. Starts on the Russian front the Soviet player has to defend an outpost first German waves were panzer II and III and 38ts they took them out with 45 ATGs and then the ivs start coming and he mans his 76.2 ATG in all it was pretty impressive the detail and all. The epic battles were crazy ice giants vs spearmen, then archers, musketeers, modern soldiers, soviets with aks.

the 47 war was crazy just about every Arab nation tried to destroy the Israelis. Not only their border neighbors Jordan Egypt and Syria, but Iran, Saudi and Iraq all sent troops planes and ground equipment. It really amazing they were able to hold with shortages of food water, medical and ammunition supplies. They say the fledgling Israeli Air Force helped a lot where the enemy were close to over running the ground forces they came down to the deck bombing and staffing beating the enemy back. That was probably one of the things wrong with the Arab campaigns they did not seem to coordinate with each other each army fighting on their own and not really supporting one another. Good for the isrealis. Even in desert storm we had coordination problems, I think they had just implemented a new type of IFF system that appearently didn't always work as there was a number of friendly fire incidents. A friend in the army told me two companies ran into each other at night and out of panic didn't check all their equipment and started firing at each other. He said they didn't know what was more embarrassing that they shot at each other or no one hit anything. Plus the A10s miss identifications and they shot up that advanced recon unit. One thing to died in battle but to get it from your own side really sucks. Armored fist I used to like that game, your a tank commander m1 Abrams. In the Middle East. Facing dozens of Iraqi tanks wondering if the Arab forces with you are going to be loyal or join the enemy. You command a platoon and have two other platoons with you you can transfer to any platoon command or fight solo. The long range firing system is fun picking off tanks before they can even start firing. Had to reply like a few dozen times before I finally got to move on, kept getting over run. And a few times the Saudis turned on me . Won it a few times with just one or two out of 12.[IMG]me

Yeah Blue on Blue incidents occur...they suck for all involved.

Remember HMAS Hobart getting shot up by American aircraft...

The Arabs needed air superiority...shows what happens on the ground if you don't/can't get it. A lesson for everyone.

No sorry didn't know about that but the survivors of the uss Liberty still have not and say they never will forgive the Israeli attack on them. They say the Israelis say they could not see the flag the crew says bull, they were flying a larger than standard flag that day, the attack boats could see it fine and broke off their attack the main loss of life and damage was by air attacks. When the Israeli boats asked if they could assist the captain told them to go to hell. Very sad some wanted to break relations with Israel over the incident saying it was not an accident. Some felt since the liberty was a listening ship that we were intercepting their transmissions and passing it on to the Egyptains. I'll have to look this up

Wow what a mess, nays over a two day period US Air Force planes attacked and damaged or sank a number of friendly sups including US naval ships sinking a navy patrol craft. The attacks killed several service men. But didn't see an official Air Force incident report. No explanation for the attacks or how their identification could get so messed up

Is PGA Pellucidar? I do think it is not Tarzan.

I quite liked the Pellucidar series. And the INDIAN CHIEF I-III.

Watched pentagon wars, I know allot of it was over dramatized in the movie and I read a lot of what actually happened was a misunderstanding of the Air Force officer being he was not totally familiar with testing procedures. The movie is hilarious and really makes you wonder if it is really as crazy at the pentagon as it makes it seem. I do remember the Bradley program ran a really long time and the big complaint was it was supposedly way over budgets. However the over budget thing seems to follow s lot of new projects these days. The scandal of the Sgt. York program brought about the DCAA, also ended ford aerospace, my friends mother worked there and when they went bankrupt said his mom was not only out of work but lost her retirement. Ford seem to pay the bulk of the price but it was mostly general dynamics that was at fault and they hardly were penalized at all. Like when the navy found they were using sub grade steel they just slapped them on the hand had the steel stripped and replaced on the people's tax dollars the news said. General dynamics has done lots over the years but are such a big defense contractor they are hardly really punished I would have canceled any further business with them and contracted any number of contractors that would have loved the work. Anyway Kelsey grammar is great, a lot of the scenes of early test vehicles is crazy it had to be extreme hard on the test crews. Like stuff I've seen the Soviet tests on the BTs like racing off a low buff into a river the impact on the crew must have been close to deadly. Watched this thing on Russian speed tests the tank was so fast that it tried to make a sharp turn went into a skid and then rolled over and over I was like wow never knew you could do that in a tank plus how fast they could go these days. I wonder if the crew survived being probably banged around inside a steel box. I have to admit I was really disappointed that we put 1.5 billion into the Sgt York project and ended up with zip. Wonder how much of that was from other projects. They said GD was charging hours from other projects that hid cost over run on other projects but sent the budget on the York soaring. Then they started the DCAA defense contractors audit association, I was on a electrical construction building their office in Buena Park I think or the next city north of it. Did all the power had to run lots of dedicated receptacles to every office guess they reall wanted to make sure they had lots of power pluse old pic and terminals back then really used a lot of juice. I also ran all the phone and data lines. That was something went thru several ten thousand foot bulk reels. Like wow what a lot of phone lines and data lines. The stupid phone company was pissed because they charge huge for that service we were like half, they said we used a substandard cable we were BS it a superior cable but it's stranded and it's easier for the phone company to punch down solid so we got an independent to do it cheaper. They would have to strip and soldier dip or coat then punch down. No wonder independent companies took over the work the utilities used to do like the phone company wanted like five thousand to run a pipe for a new phone line my dad need to do computer work from home I did it for about two hundred in material. And the phone utility inspector complemented my work said it was the best looking job he'd seen in a while. I had talked to the installer who came out to do some survey of the work and I asked him how they were going to get the new line to the office said they would surface run it. I didn't like the sound of that so I said what if I get the lines down here for you the guy said that would be great. I crawled in the loft and set up a pull line cut open the wall to the main line on the second floor. Set another pull line to the service entrance and pull seven new four pair lines one new main trunk, there's five rooms on the second floor pulled a cable for each room plus a spare for the office. Marked the cables and spiced in the new trunk myself. The installer was thrilled said it was one of the easiest jobs he had to do that day. Did the same for my nephew when we retired his house and I left pull lines all over for the dish installer said it was great had all his cables pulled in no time. Stupid installers another guy showed up to do an upgrade tried to tell my nephew he had to pull a new data line for the main box I already had set three. My nephew was why is that we have three over there already the guy was what. Theses installer are independent and make more if they have to run cable and lines they did that to my parents I was pissed because I had spent days completely setting up a cable system and in house wired network. They charged them big when all the needed was an inexpensive Ethernet splitter. Hate rip offs, lol, watched that news thing were they have an ac serviced the had the guy loosen the control wire and call a bunch of service companies had a hidden camera and had these guys do a service check. Each one made it out to be more than it was the crazy thing each following kept on getting more and more till the last guy told them it was shot and needed a new unit, to each of the guys embarrassment they brought out the news crew told they guy they knew he was scamming them. The last guy I think they said the company fired. Have to say that's how I got a job a guy was scamming customers on extra service work the company caught wind didn't want any bad reflection on the company and fired the guy. I ended up having to do a bunch of warranty calls because of that guy I hate having to clean up someone else's mess, unfortunately in service that's mostly what I did.

I think it was rather good. Not too much propaganda. If you can get it, I recommend.

Been watching the dog fight series on YouTube just watched the episode on the catus Air Force the marines did pretty good with the wildcat even though in other early engagements the wildcat faired poorly. I read that was mostly because our pilots early on lacked experience and combat training. The military was quick to respond and we had the best flight and combat schools of any country before the wars end. It says we lost more pilots in combat training than in combat. Plus weren't we like training just about everyone's else's pilots we had Brits here and Canadians I read at our thunderbird schools. Did we have any other nations. Did we ever have any soviets here for training??
Anyway love the series the cgi is not the most advanced but Google for the time of the series. The graphics look good and the information is great. It's amazing that some pilots became aces in one day others within days. Those marines were fighting like hell and used every advantage the plane gave them. Seems the Japanese on trying to save on steel and resources just made there planes too fragile, pilots would say they many times just shot one quick burst and the enemy plane would in most cases just burst into flame. The Japanese realized their short comings but took time to build new better planes by that time most of their best pilots were lost and they just didn't have the fuel to properly train new ones. Fuel was our biggest advantage we had lots the axis had little and it caused them to lose armor and air power as we bled them dry bombing every source of fuel we could even risking countless bombers in deep penetration missions. Our full effort missions had high losses. I still think we did better than the British like they said we were crazy doing daylight bombing night was safer, yet they have like six to seven per plane and we had ten yet we lost 50,000 and they lost 55,000. If it was so much safer why the higher losses did they have to fly lower because of the night to se the path finders flares and more acceptable to antiaircraft or German night fighters were really giving them a time. Btw didn't the British have a crude type of anti radar. The would broad cast a type of jamming signal to try to confuse enemy radar and German radar was helping to track the planes for flak guns. Now it says the Germans captured some mobile units but weren't the Germans and other countries all working on there own radar tech.

Been watching band of brothers part one and pacific part six on HBO. Interesting they show the machine gunners setting up and the guy tosses a pair of asbestos gloves next to the gun. I figured what they were for but was familiar with it so looked it up and found it was standard issue for gunners. Although the marines would find other ways to handle their guns when the air cooled barrels came out saw stuff on field mods like a stock and various barrel grips. Watch some other shows on the pacific war on you tube. The fighting was really intense and the marines were really impressed with the small mortar they nicked named the knee motar. Not sure why they called it that maybe because the guy would fire it from a kneeling position but not from the knee an old marine said a guy tried to fire one from the knee and broke his knee cap but the proper way was to brace the bottom in the ground and hand hold it at the angle you wanted. Not like our guys that had scales and markings for distance ect.

Saw another part of pacific and saw the scene where they rotate platoons off the line to get some food captured Japanese rations of rice like one scoop the soldier pulls a maggot out and says to the cook what's this the cook says think of it as meat. Now I know there starving and survival training they say insects are a source of protein but yet when your starving there are things I guess you can accept to stay alive. Like all those British navy guys back in the days of sailing ships stranded eating the dead to stay alive and the people back home were no way. Lots of people have done so to stay alive like those Andes survivors but society can't accept it and many were shunded many such acts with British shipwreck survivors and such were keep secret so not to aghast the normal populace. Anyway it's amazing the marines were able to hold out and fight with barely a handful of rice a day. In the series the army lands and set up their own depot. The marines raid it stealing food and lots of other things. When there finally relieved sent back to Melbourne and whoop it up getting drunk a lot. Had a friend that was in the army and was in Vietnam trained as an mp so was back in school to become a police officer. On his first day he's paired up with an old timer they got a disturbance call to a bar his partner grabs his club and unfasten the holster strap he's like is that really necessary stepped into the bar wakes up two weeks later in a hospital had a concussion when he stepped in got hit with a chair over the head. When he got out put back on mp duty the next call he got in with his club and gun unfastened. Said troops off the line just let loose and they were generally out of hand whooping it up relieving all the pent up stress of combat.
there was an old old movie were a guy goes to some island perfects a fungus that turns people onto zombies for the nazis but some people find out the guy finds out tries to kill them but they escape the destroy his creation and save the world from a zombie Nasir army

Rewarding robotech have all three parts Macross, southern cross and mospeada. There working on a live action movie starting with Macross read it was in preproduction finalizing the cast. That was months ago so hopefully there in production. Hope they stay with the original story. I hate movies that are based on a book or cartoon and they completely change the story so it's not even close to the original story line. I read that before a script was followed closely but now you have a script that then can be reinterpreted by the director then by the actor and then by the producer. Some times by the time their done the movie might not even have half of the original script left. Anyway the special effects will be similar to transformers many of the special effects people that worked on that one are helping with robotech. Looked up the latest cast line up and noticed it's changed some either they couldn't get a agreeable contract or the actors were not interested or had other commitments. But the cast looks pretty good for the most part, but not so sure about the choice for Rick hunter but guess we'll see when the movie comes out. Been watching La Brea interesting so far but lots of things still unanswered but slowly bit by bit their reveling things to thicken the plot. Like la Brea is the fifth incident that they know of there's lots of land where few people live things could have happened there too and if they are going back 12 thousand years aren't they going to mess things up for later or what. So far I've been kinda able to predict things from the previews and hundreds of hours of past scifi movies.
Had my PT yesterday did some exercises and he had me stand using the walker the let go and stand on my own I was able to balance myself for about a minute but still can't fully extend my legs I'm at a fifteen plus degree loss of radial extension. The doctor ordered me a special brace that I'm supposed to put on extend my legs to near uncomfortable but my hamstrings are pushed to beyond and lick the brace so that it makes my hamstrings stretch out leave them locked for several hours then reset pushing my legs straighter each time. I hear it's a bit uncomfortable and could be a bit painful the doc prescribed 800 mg ibrofen, lol, never knew they went that high, heard of 500 had a could of gf with back injuries and had to take them. He said it would be cheaper than taking several 200 mg like I had, funny though I heard it was the other way around as the prescription dosage is really expensive, hopefully my ins will fully cover it, so far knock on wood I haven't had a single copay yet. I've been wanting to try to get out and start the garden but not sure if it's a good time rain has been coming in lately and I have to kill the grass off first I read that laying cardboard on top of the grass is a organic way to get rid of it but I'm worried if it rains a lot after setting the boards that it could be a mess if the board get really saturated had something like that before and was a mess to clean up when the cardboard started to break down and fall apart. I'll probably have put weights on it as it gets windy at night and early morning. I hope I'm somewhat mobile soon I think gardening will be go exercise.

Killing zombies are a waste of green energy. Tie them to a hamster wheel or water wheel and put them to work instead to generate electricty. There's also zonbie powered omnibuses too.

Caught more episodes of band of brothers and pacific. Seems one of the things they are conveying is that many of our soldiers came back with all sorts of mental issues something our government tried to say didn't exist like ptsd for years they denied it existed then finally conceded it did. I don't why our government is always trying to hid things or deny things most people know about yet our government lies about it like the troops they exposed to radiation in the 50s, troops exposed to agent orange. One I think it's insulting and then eventually it all comes out and just builds more distrust in our government. Anyway it's sad so many come back with these problems, Audie Murphy suffered from ptsd had a lot of problems. You watch a lot of these movies and documentaries with old vets and some talk about their flash backs calling out to buddies killed in action, the guilt of being a survivor. War is hell you hear that a lot and many old vets say it too. I was impressed with the staging scene on band of brothers all the C47s lined up for the invasion, I've seen stuff on YouTube were the have these air shows just for dc3s and there's lots of them a few 47s mixed in a few in wwii colors saw one set up as a Vietnam gunship spooky, wonder if they got a bunch of planes from a show like that and just repainted them for the movie. I read for Memphis bell the got a bunch of Gs and paid to have them converted to look like Fs. But I think it said the crashing B17 was filmed while making another movie the plane had a landing gear malfunction and tried to make an emergency landing and caught fire and was totally destroyed. Some guy looking for b17 parts at some junkyard found a fuselage of an old C47 wwii serial numbered so bought it with plans to restore it. The said while there's lots of DC3s there's getting to be fewer and fewer C47 a few dc3 have been modified to look like 47s by adding the cargo door a special order conversion kit and very expensive. They had a number of old dc3s sitting at the fence line at long beach airport the all these old planes just disappeared. The airport I guess cleaned up that part of the facility don't know what the did with all the old planes.
